I loved Mona like a sister. I light a candle for her every Oct. 3rd. She was my best friend. That summer after graduation when I found out she was murdered. I died. I literally do not rememer the rest of that year. the last time I saw her was in April 1976. I went over to her house and showed her my 1969 Cougar and we talked of how she used to crush on Pete Camp...and of course William Meadors. We picked 4 Leaf Clovers from her front yard (I later put those in plastic and still carry them with me!) We talked about where we wanted to go to school, or get an apratment...or what we would do after high school. we traded Libra rings and said we would ALWAYS keep in touch.
A monster named Gerald Stano took all that away. I will never forget her kindness at church...and her sweetness and ear for listening to me when I had a crush on her brother Spud. LOVE HER TO THIS DAY and always. I know I will see her again one day. I'll never forget her beautiful laughter and sparkling eyes.
All these years have gone by, and I never knew. Ramona was a sweet classmate and always nice to me, I was shocked when I learned what happened to her in Florida. My condolances to her family, May she rest in peace in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.
