Here is my life story for the last 19+ years: Graduated from UNI in May 1993 thinking I wanted to do something in a bank with my Finance - Real Estate emphasis degree. I worked at Brenton Bank in DM for a few years in the Mortgage Dept. Took a new job in 1995 at Principal Financial Group in their annuity department - I wasn't even sure what an annuity was! I married Scott Schulte (SE class of 90) in October 1996. When he finished pharmacy school in May of 1997 he took a job in Waterloo. We lived in Waterloo for about three years and during this time I got this crazy idea that I wanted to be a high school business teacher. I worked for a small insurance company in Waverly, IA and went back to school at UNI and got my teaching degree. In 2000, we decided that we wanted to move back to Des Moines so I took a teaching job at Southeast Polk High School. Being a public school with over 1600 kids in 9-12, it was a real eye openner for me. We were pretty sheltered at St. Eds - which isn't necessarily a bad thing! I taught there for a couple years until I decided I wanted a job without so much home work! I went back to Principal Financial in 2003 and still work for them today - from my office at home in Fort Dodge!
After spending years trying to make sure I wouldn't get pregnant, I found out when we were ready to have kids that it isn't always that easy! After a couple years trying on our own, we spent over a year with a fertility doctor before we finally were blessed to be pregnant and have our first baby girl in 2003 - Sydney is now in Kindergarten at Saint Ed's. With the help of a fertility doctor, I was pregant again in 2004 - this time with twins! We found out early on that one of the babies did not have amniotic fluid and they did not think he would survive the pregnancy. I had Sam and Addison ten weeks early on Valentine's Day 2005. Sam spent his whole six months in the hospital, but we feel blessed that we had that time with him and now have our own guardian angel! Addison is now in preschool and will turn 4 - small in stature but makes up for it with her attitude! We moved back to Fort Dodge in 2005 - decided that it would be nice to have family around. I still work for Principal and Scott works for Wright Medical Center in Clarion. For the most part we enjoy being in Fort Dodge - but the shopping and resturant selection still sucks!
