Connie McGough

After transfering to Senior High my Junior year I went on to play tennis on a full ride scholarship at Iowa State and received my Bachelors in Sociolgy with a minor in criminal justice. After graduation I worked at a group home in Des Moines for teen boys removed from their home, Men's work release center in Marshalltown, Women's work release center in Des Moines and then went on to work at Polk County Youth Services where I have been for 15 years now. I have worked my way up to Senior Social Worker and am currently at the shelter. We are a court ordered shelter that works with boys and girls ages 7-17 who have either been removed from the home due to neglect or abuse or who are transitioning from the juvenile detention center to home, foster care, or another placement. I love working with kids.

I went on to get my Master's in Public Administration from Drake University in 2003 and hope to one day put it to use.

I also began umpiring youth softball and baseball last year and am working on getting my coaching authorization.

I have many school stories and have enjoyed reading everyone elses. Keith did bring back memories when he brought up myself and Mitzi Pilcher playing flag football in grade school. I remember the many road trips through sports. I do remember Lori you and I belive it was Angela that came to my house when the guy was up on the track with the gun.
