Gilles Levesque

Gilles (Lucien) Levesque, 40, beloved husband of Karen (Plourde) Levesque died Jan. 28, 2001, at a Bangor health-care facility due to injuries sustained from a snowmobile accident near Estcourt Station on the Maine/Quebec border. He was born in Edmundston, NB, Canada, April 1, 1960, the son of Marc and Isabelle (Nadeau) Levesque.

Gilles was a member of the Fort Kent 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and past advocate officer of the 3rd Degree K of C. He was a former member of the FK Fire Dept, and co-den leader of the FK Cub Scouts.  He also participated annually in a Special Olympics Torch Ruby by police officers and in a bicycle rally across Maine to raise funds for the Portland Ronald McDonald House. He worked in the Forest Industry until becoming a FK law enforcement officer in 1986.

Gilles enjoyed snowmobiling, 4-wheeling and camping with his family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed spending time with his children and also children in the community. He spent many hours at the UMFK exercising and giving students advice.  He also enjoyed watching football, basketball and hockey with his family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his wife of 18 years, Karen his is survived by two children, Katie & Daryn of  FK.
