Same question as Tiffany's. I have been around FM, but for all of those who are very far away, they may be interested to see the "new and improved" FMHS. It has been remodeled even since I left teaching there in 2005.

Hello Everyone. No Picnic at my house anymore. I think Denise decided that there were going to be more people than orignally thought when I first volunteered. Apparently there will be a dinner and a dance on Saturday night at La Cascada and golf on Sunday morning with a picnic to follow at Riverside park I guess. We should really try and do something on Friday night as well.

My parents moved from Ft. Morgan my sophomore year of college so I've not had the chance to get back "home" often. It will be nice to see the town and how it has changed.

I like the Friday night idea. Maybe we could have a gathering at the high school, or since I'll be in a hotel, maybe I could get a banquet room there to meet up after a tour of the place. Any interest in that, or Denise, do you have plans for Friday night?

No plans announced as of yet for Friday night, but for those arriving than, maybe I could schedule a gathering for drinks, nothing formal, just something for those interested in starting the weekend off.

I would also be interested in doing something Friday night. I will be driving down Friday afternoon. Is anyone planning on golfing on Sunday?

Sorry to say that I can't make the much-heralded reunion. I'll be working offshore Nigeria at the time. Definitely would've been down for it all. Have some stiff drinks for me. Hope everyone is doing well.

I dont think your going to get a response from some of the guys on the list unless you post this in a few jails!

Has any times or costs been worked out yet? Also are there any deals being offered by any hotels there? Where does everyone plan on staying (those that will be in hotels)? Steve, who's in jail?

That's too bad that some of our fellow school mates was sucked into that black hole.

You know, i find it sad that theres not more posts on Joseph Smelser's profile for as nice as a guy as he was. Ah, maybe thats just me tring to redeem myself for asshole behavior.

Ever since that was posted, I read it every time I visit this site. Almost like I am in disbelief. I know young people die with out rhyme or reason, but this one hit home. I want to write something but just haven't found the words. I know a lot of us made fun of him and some probably don't want to admit it (Maybe that is the answer for lack of posting). My memories of Joseph are good ones. I can actually remember him back in elementary school too. He was a nice, caring guy and had some really funny things to say. I have seen him mad but I think it may have been out of frustration. I am sorry for the times that I did tease him and I know I will never get to tell him.

My thoughts and prayers are with Joe's family.

I have been trying to get some information on Gabe Alvarado who has also passed away. I don't have the details but his sister is getting me some information. I know it happened a few years ago, when I was still in college. He was electrocuted, if I remember correctly, at work. I am trying to get some info on it but I don't want him to be forgotten.

I have Gabe's obit somewhere, I am going to look for it and should have something posted by the end of the week.

I got a room at the Days Inn, but I don't know if they have a meeting area or anything for a Friday night get together. I don't know about any special rates, but it wasn't too bad. Maybe we could ask Cables or one of those places on Main for a larger reservation. I could get that going as an informal get together.

I went to my High School Reunion on Saturday and all in all I'm so happy I did.

Nonetheless, I have so many different emotions. I was happy to see the people that I shared memories with, happy to catch up with people I didn't speak to very much but was friends with, and happy to talk to and make friends with people I never even MET in my class...hehe. All of the spouses were very sociable and down to earth! Some of them were VERY cute.

I was just a bit unsure if I was going to go at first (was about 95% sure I was gonna go for cathartic purposes). My first thought was that it would be a waste of time and travel (about an hour and a half drive, so about eight grand in gas). Some classmates got a hold of me and told me they really thought I should go so then I was 100%. Thanks Andy, Danyelle, Evan, Jasmine, Julie and Denise! Also, a couple close friends from work recommended it. Thanks Christy, Jen Ruth and Jen Bocanegra!

As I explained to Jen B, the person that I was then wasn't terribly worried about finishing High School and leaving these people for good. I could honestly have cared less because I was trying to avoid being outed as much as possible and so socialized as little as possible. There were a few people (who know who they are) that were very immature and tried to out me in front of the whole class and make it a scandal. When you are trying to deny it from yourself it is that much more painful to have others acknowledge it, then sit right next to all of them every single day. The person I am now could care less about being outed, although it does make it easier to speak to women if they know I am gay and not trying to hit on them, hehe.

So anyways...it was Grade A catharsis for sure. I am glad I went...and now have a forum to keep in touch with those that I care enough to do so. Will I be going to the 20th reunion for a sequel to the experience? Absolutely not. It was an experience that I wanted for personal growth....but there is nothing to gain from a repeat.

In comparison to a getaway/night out I would rate it a 6. The atmosphere/food was about an 8 (good job Jaylene) however the fact that everyone either didn't know how to or just didn't feel like dancing brought it down to a 6. Not one single person out of around 100 wanted to dance. I arrived fashionably late with friends around 8 (it started at 7PM) and made an effort to get up from my table to mingle with others and left with friends at 10:30 (it ended at 11PM).

Gas to drive to my High School Reunion - $20

Entrance fee for High School Reunion - $20

Not having to wonder for the rest of my life how it would have gone down - Priceless.
