Ann Szentmartoni Hartley, 63, died May 1, 2012, at Springhill Medical Center, Mobile. She was born in Germany and graduated from Dan McCarty High School in Fort Pierce in 1967. After graduation she was employed by the St. Lucie County School Board until 1977. In 1977, she moved to Alabama with her family. She was employed by Alabama Power Co. until December 1990. She attended college at the University of South Alabama and graduated in the fall of 1999 magna cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in computer science. She was a member of Upsilon Pi Epsilon Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi and Golden Key National Honor Society. Survivors include sisters, Betty Elmore and Marie Brazas of Fort Pierce; brothers, John Szentmartoni of Fort Pierce, Joe Szentmartoni of Louden, Tenn., and Steve Szentmartoni of Okeechobee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jozsef and Theresa Szentmartoni; and her son, Jeff Hartley.
