Its always a shock when another friend passes away.  I hadn't heard from David in years and a couple of years ago he contacted me, hoping I'd have some connection for deep sea fishing in the Pacific ocean.  After that we never communicated again.  He was a good surf buddy and a great skin diving spear fisherman.  We'd go out together and I'd get 3 or 4 fish and David would get 10 or 15, all bigger than any of mine.  Even though we had no contact for years, I'll still miss seeing him.  I was hoping he'd come to the 50th reunion.  Our Dan McCarty family is getting smaller.  For those of us left, live every day like its your last.  Remember those who have passed.  David was a good guy!

Dave and I had some great times as South Beach neighbors.  I will always remember our friendship.

Dave called me out of the blue in about April of this year....said he just wanted to catch up with some old friends.  He said he had some health issues but he was going to try to make it to the reunion.  We talked for a while  about surfing and skin diving in Ft. Pierce in high school.  It was fun catching up with him.  I remember Dave as being a nice guy and fun to be with.  I'm so sorry he is gone.  I was looking forward to seeing him at our reunion.  Rest in peace, my friend.
