James E. Houck, 29, a former resident of Fort Pierce died October 9, 1978, in Los Angeles, CA.  He was a resident of Huntington Beach, CA, moving there from Fort Pierce about eight months prior to his death.  He was a native of Shawnee, CA.  Mr. Houck was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Fort Pierce.

Survivors at the time of his death included his wife, Candice H. Houck of Fort Pierce; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Philip H. Houck, of Vero Beach; a son, Robert Aaron Houck of Fort Pierce; a daughter, Poppy Houck, of Fort Pierce; and his maternal grandfather, Harold Ullum of Shawnee.
