FPC/FPW Class of 1979 Scholarship Donation Program

Background  During our 40th Class Reunion in June 2019, there was widespread support for expanding the role of our Reunion Committee.

  • New bylaws allow us to give back to future graduates of FPC and FPW through a Scholarship Program.
  • Articles of Incorporation created Fort Pierce Central and Westwood High Schools Class of 1979 Alumni Association, Inc.  (1979 Alumni Association), incorporated as an IRS 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Corporation chartered to do business in the State of Florida.  Individuals and corporations may donate to the 1979 Alumni Association, potentially generating a tax deduction on federal income taxes.

Why provide scholarships to graduating FPC/WW HS Seniors?

  • Demand  There are currently 16 public high schools(including non-traditional) in Saint Lucie County.  Lincoln Park Academy serves as the academic magnet school and receives a significant amount of support for college-bound students.
  • Economic Need  Two of every three students at FPC and FPW qualify as economically disadvantaged according to the State of Florida

Scholarship Program Specifics  Refer to the previous input from the Scholarship Committee for Program Specifics.
