My absolutely wonderful, smart, nice and beautiful grand-niece, Blythe Harkenrider, is leaving this month (January) to study at Cambridge, England!!   She went to Concordia and graduated a couple years ago (2 or 3). We are all SO PROUD or her; she is as good as she is nice. Her sister, Myrthe, is a senior this year (I think-or somewhere close to it ) at Concordia. Maybe a Junior . . . I can't keep track of exact time living so far away. We all love both girls so much. Concordia does it again (produces great people). I am thankful to God for this blessing.

Dolly,  I thought that name sounded familiar.  Blythe Harkenrider graduated in 2009 and was the recipient of the Barnabas Award - which is dear to my heart.  I was class advisor for the Class of 1986 and as their class gift to the high school they established the Barnabas Award.  Barnabas was a co-worker with St. Paul and his name means "encourager."  And so the award is given each year to the senior who exhibits the traits of encouragement to her peers and all of the Concordia family.  It is given to a person who shows Christian care and love and just simply lives out what Concordia hopes all of its students become.  Blythe was certainly that.  I have served as administrator of the award since its inception and it has been a joy to do so.   Don

Thanks for the comments, Don. Blythe and Myrthe have always had a very special place in my heart. They are so nice, and kind and everything good--just like their mother, Jody.
