Gary Novak

Spent 35 years in public education. Spent 1st 14 years in East Allen Co. Schools leaving in 1981 as priniciple of Leo Jr-Sr High. Retired in 2002 with 20 years as an administrator and 15 years in the classroom. Finally reached my coaching dreams the last 8 years at Milan Middle School with 7th grade girls basketball and volleyball and boys track.

The best freshman memory was at a chapel service sitting with Paul Bradtmiller, Gunther Rahden and Jerry Kleinschmidt . Jerry got us giggling so hard that Pastor Oldsen reprimanded us from the pulpit.
I remembering getting strep throat in the first semester of my freshman year and missing two weeks of school. When I left Babs Lepper was my girlfriend and when I came back she was Bob Stockamp's girlfriend..was I mad!! Thanks Bob.

When we finished our senior year basketball season I found out I had become Concordia's career scoring leader by 2 points over Bob Stockamp(only because he had to sit out a game due to sm....ing) That's what you get Bob for taking my girl!

What a memorable basketball season that was with the 1st, 2nd (Bob)and 5th-Tom Reiter leading scorers in the city .

Taking speech with Chuck Henke my senior year for my first impromptu speech I drew NAACP. I had NO idea what that stood for and proceeded to speak for two minutes on the group the National Association for Colorblind People. Henke and the class laughed the entire two minutes -- finding out that they were laughing at me NOT at my content!!

Sitting in studyhall our freshman year SOMEONE rolled a box of bb's towards the front of the room and teacher's desk. I do NOT remember who did it!!

Any football player remember our freshman year on the stage and Ralph Grant trying to haze Mike Abbott.... and then thinking better of it. Oh big Mike!! His older sister JOYCE was my 1ST KISS--(Judy R.--you thought it was you--wrong!!)
