My sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Don. I remember Don as a warm and friendly guy.  If memory serves, Don was an enthusiastic paticipant in ROTC and excelled as a student.

Glad I had the opportunity to get to know Don better while working with him on the class website and 50th Reunion book. He devoted many selfless hours to the task; not only for the 50th reunion, but many prior. My deepest sympathy to Barb and the family.

I have fond memories of Don from an early age. I recall he lived across the street from Dawson's Root Beer Stand where i used to go for the best root beer in town after delivering the News Sentinel. Don and his brother also worked there and I believe when the Dawsons put up a Christmas tree lot he worked at that as well. Of course we went through Bethlehem (Note the photo with Jack Springer and Don as captains of the safety patrol) and CLHS together. After graduation I never saw him again until the 50th reunion. It was very special for me to see Don and all my other classmates at both the 50th and the 55th, some for the last time. I look forward to the 60th reunion. I pray for the peace that passes all understanding for the family of Don as he is now resting in the arms of his heavenly Father.

Don was one of my childhood friends when we were coming of age near the Anthony/Rudisill Blvd. area.  Like most boys, we were always looking for fun and adventure- biking to unexplored territories, honing our skills with our air rifles, canoeing along Ft. Wayne rivers, etc.  Even at a young age, Don exhibited skills of a leader:  intelligence, responsibility, courage, empathy, and willingness to help others.  On his passing, I offer heartfelt condolences to his family.  May Don's accomplishments and goodness never be forgotten.
