WOLCOTTVILLE - Phyllis J. Bly, 50, of Wolcottville, died at 11:45 a.m. Sunday in Bergland, Mich., in a snowmobiling accident.
She was born Sept. 6, 1944, in Fort Wayne to Donald D. and Martha (Meckstroth) Jackson. Her mother, Martha Taylor, survives in Fort Wayne. Her father preceded her in death. She married Reynold Gene Bly July 28, 1962, in Fort Wayne. He also survives.
Mrs. Bly, who moved to the Wolcottville area 10 years ago from Fort Wayne, was employed with the in-plant support services of the U.S. Postal Service 26 years.
Surviving with her husband and mother are two sons, Chad Bly of Fort Wayne, and Donn Bly of Auburn; four sisters, Merry Hahnert of Kendallville, Anna Wells of Whitehouse, Ohio, and Karen Cramer and Patricia Greve, both of Fort Wayne; her grandmothers, Beatrice Meckstroth of Indiana River, Mich., and Lela Jackson of Fort Wayne; and five granddaughters.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Elzey & Haggard Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, with the Rev. Gerald Hartke officiating. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Visitation is from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the charity of the donor's choice.
