Sally was my "rock" during my high school years. We spent hours laughing, singing, talking, and enjoying each other's company. The friendship survived until her untimely death in 1992. I was in Texas when she died, and I will never forget the phone call from my husband telling me what had happened. Now she is part of "all the company of Heaven", and I can't help but think that she was the lucky one. She was one of the few completely open and honest people I've ever met, meeting every new person as a potential friend. I still miss her.
I was so fortunate to have Sally as one of my best friends! We were also happily able to reconnect with each other several years before her death. She came to visit my husband and I while we lived in Florida. We wrote each other at least every other week and spent many hours conversing on the phone. She became my very closet confident and I hers. There were so many laughs and tears during those times. I spoke to her just days before I got the news that she had passed away. I was devasted. I had known that she wasn't feeling well and I had planned on flying to Ft. Wayne to see her. It has taken me a long time to get over losing her so soon! My husband adored her too, and they would spend hours "making fun" of some of my antics. She was truly what the defination of the word friend means. She was ALWAYS there for me and I hope that I was there for her too. Though I"ll never forget her, I will always cherish her memory. God blessed me with her friendship!
