After leaving Concordia Lutheran High School, I attended ITT for three years in their Mechanical Engineering school. From there I went to work at International Harvester Co. Then in the fall of 1965, I was drafted into the army for two years (1 year in Viet Nam.)
When I came back from that, I continued back at IH. I joined their apprenticeship program and became a pipefitter. In 1970, I met my future wife and we married a year later. It has now been 41 wonderful years.
Then in 1983, IH decided to leave town, so I went to work for a locksmith in Fort Wayne. After a few years, another employee and I decided to start our own locksmith and door hardware shop. In 1998, we started the FLC Shop, which has been a very successful business. On April 1, 2012, we sold the business. I am still working, but as an employee.
As for hobbies, I like working on my 1955 T-Bird and going to car shows. We both like ballroom dancing and taking cruises to different parts of the world. In March we were in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore. We both like gardening and lots of flowers.
