I was SO sorry to learn of Connie's death!  I remember her as such a nice and fun person!  She was always a friend to me and many others!  She will be missed!  May God be with her family as they go through this difficult time.  Rest well, friend.  Nancy

Connie was my gradeschool friend from Holy Cross. We shared many fun times together. I remember Connie's mother was a teacher at Holy Cross as well. Her beautiful smile never changed. She was a joyful, positive person who loved to enjoy life and people. I had hoped to see her at the reunion but somehow missed her. Her children and grandchildren must have been a great joy to her, living in Ft. Wayne all these years. I thank God for her faith and look forward to seeing her at the great reunion in heaven. Connie and I lived on the same street and were the best of friends for many years.  We spent hours playing baseball in the field next to her house, walked to DQ often, played in the play house her dad built in the back yard and improved our skating skills in her kitchen!

I will always regret that we didn't stay in touch after high school, but in my heart, she will remain my best friend forever.

Peace and Love to her family,

Sandy (Whitacre) Wadewitz-Wilson

A gravesite service was held for Connie yesterday, May 6, 2014. A gathering followed for the family and friends. Classmate Jack Springer opened the gathering with prayer. Connie's son and three daughters were there with their childen.  It was a rather happy event with a christian closure. Connie's pain and suffering is over and her daugher told me they were rejoicing over that. Also attending was classmate Rev. David Smith's brother Jerry and his wife.It was a sunny day.

I'm so sorry to learn of Connie's death.  She was a sweet girl, a fun classmate.  It always seemed to me that Connie was centered and very at ease with life.  At a young age she seemed to understand what it was all about.  My thoughts are with her children and family.
