Lynda Varner

Lynda Varner

Miss Linda Kay Varner, 20 , of  2814 1/2 S. Clinton St., died at 4:40 a.m. yesterday (1965) in St. Joseph's Hospital. She received head injuries in a 2 car crash on U.S. 33 northwest of here early Thursday morining. Sheriff's deputies said Miss Varner's northbound car veered across the center line on a curve and crashed headon with a southbound car.

Miss Varner was an employee of the Victor Gasket Co. in Churubusco and was on her way to work when the accident occurred. She was a native of Fort Wayne and a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church. 
 

Surviving are her mother, with who she resided; a brother, Clinton K. Varner, Fort Wayne; two sisters, Sharon and Joyce, both at home; and a niece. Her father, Robert M. , Died in June, 1964.
Friends may call at the Mungovan & Son Mortuary today froom 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. The body will be taken Thursday at noon to the Emmanuel Church where friends may call until 2 p.m. when services will be conducted by the Rev. Walter M. Schoedel. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery.

Sandra Beyer (Killila)

Clinton surely loved his sister, Lynda, dearly.  I talked with him at the first reunion following her death and he wept about her loss.  She meant a great deal to him.  It seemed that he would not recover from losing her.  I hope that as the years passed he was able to find some peace.  Sandy Killila

I also loved Lynda and + be. forward to. Meeting with her again in a better place. I pray that Clinton will be blessed with peace and understanding.
