After graduation I attended Moorhead State for two years, foolishly decided to get married and moved to Monterey, CA and Japan (yes, I’ve climbed Mt Fuji). I returned to Minnesota after 2 1/2 years with two dogs and no husband and received my Associates degree at MSU. I stayed in Fosston for a few months while I figured out what to do, and then moved to the Twin Cities to start fresh. Although it was going to be a temporary move, I’m still in the Mpls/St Paul area.
During the next several years I was busy working and playing and getting my Bachelor’s degree at the University of St. Thomas. I was also “mom” to a fuzzy, cuddly and laid-back black lab mix named Bear. I dated one guy for many years who convinced me to get my scuba certification. I’m a Master Diver and Ice certified! Don’s still a good friend and he and his wife are part of my dive buddy group. I was even “best man” at their wedding in Mexico a few years ago.
After several job moves, I ended up at a company where I met my fabulous husband, Jay. Jay and I worked together for about a year, then we went to a Wild hockey game and out for a beer and ended up engaged 45 days later and married a few months after that (when it’s right, you just know!) We were married outdoors on a beautiful summer day with family and close friends to help us celebrate. We spent our honeymoon diving in Bonaire and Noah came along 11 months later. We adopted Einar the dog when Noah turned 1 and Jonah came along just about 3 years after that. Emma was a very pleasant surprise...we didn't think #3 would happen, but having a girl is pretty cool. And she's such a happy baby...and she sleeps!! We’re still Wild fans, still love to scuba dive (although that’s pretty much on hold until the kids are older) and just enjoy spending time together as a family.
