40 Year Reunion

DETAILS

Can You Believe It?

Forty years ago, we walked across the stage at the Civic Center in Frankfort and collected our high school diplomas. The Class of '74 has done a lot of living in these past 40 years . . . and it's time to reconnect with that great group of kids (as we will always be in our own eyes!) and see what everyone has been up to!

Our 40th class reunion is set for Labor Day weekend this year, beginning on Friday, August 29, with a Golf Scramble to benefit Special Olympics at Juniper Hills Golf Course on Louisville Road. If you are interested in participating, you can register your interest on this site or just show up before the 1:00 PM Shotgun Start to register yourself or a team. Cost is $50/person or $200/team and includes lunch, cart and greens fee, along with LOTS of prizes! Lunch begins at 11:30. (Adjusted entry fee for Juniper Hill membership holders.)

Click image for more information! On Friday evening, check in the Private Dining Room for Serafini on the St. Clair Mall for name tags and to purchase the beverage of your choice (alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available) and mix and mingle before or during the Farmer's Bank Summer Concert Series on the lawn of the Old Capitol, which begins at 7:00 PM. The musical talent onstage that night is Coralee & The Townies and The Twiggenburys. In case of inclement weather, we have the room at Serafini as an alternate location. Meals and beverages are on your own on Friday evening, and there are lots of choices downtown for your dining pleasure!

Saturday, August 30, is a UK Home Football Game, and many of you may want to take in that game. We plan to have our main event at the Frankfort Country Club, 101 Duntreath, Frankfort, starting with a meet and greet at 6:30 PM and dinner at 7:15 PM. (Casual dress is the rule for all events associated with our 40-Year Reunion, so be comfortable and plan to join us!)

We will have a DJ spinning the hits from 1971-1974, bringing back all those old memories of good times, as well as fun photo booth. There will be plenty of time to reminisce and tables of memorabilia (if you have anything to donate, please contact any of us and we'll take good care of it and get it back to you after the reunion!), as well as a memorial table to remember our friends who have taken that Stairway to Heaven before us.

Reservations should be made in advance on this site for $50/person. Reservations need to be finalized (a "yes" or "no" instead of a "maybe" for the Main Event on Saturday, August 30!) by the end of the day on August 25 so that we can give accurate numbers to the Club for food. To make reservations, click the 40 Year Reunion on this site and register! Refunds will be available for any cancellations made by 8/25/2014; after that date, no refunds will be available.

Sponsorships are now closed so that we can recognize all of our wonderful classmates appropriately. We had a wonderful response to the Sponsorship opportunity, and appreciate all who gave!

We plan to invite our Class of '74 sponsor, Carol Carpenter, as well as some other teachers/school staff to the Saturday night event, and we will not be charging them, so some of any sponsorships we receive will help defray those costs.

Please bring a business card or your personal information , if you are willing to share, so we can keep our database up to date for the NEXT reunion!

If you have questions, or need more information or special considerations (accessibility issues, dietary needs, etc.), please contact Karen Ellis at k.ellis_ky@live.com or call 502-320-2314, or message me on Facebook, Karen Clark Ellis, Frankfort, KY.

We look forward to seeing all of you in August to celebrate the greatest class to ever graduate from dear Franklin County High!
