Spending most of my days as a stay-at-home dad since I basically didn't do very much in the business world, although I am the national course director for the United States Golf Teachers Federation, the nation's second-largest organization of golf pros. It's a part-time job. I spent too many years trying to be a golf playing professional - the worst part is almost getting there but not doing it, so I chased the dream longer than I should have. On the positive side, I do live in the Sunbelt, so I have avoided harsh winters since 1989. Visitors are always welcome. I have also traveled the entire United States and have seen a fair amount of the world. In 1996 I was fortunate to be able to have a 45-minute personal conversation with Johnny Unitas, which is one of the highlights of my life. I have played golf with several pro golfers and other athletes in other sports, so while I never achieved my professional potential either as a golfer or in business, I cannot say I was shortchanged in the personal department.
