Dear Class of 1999,

 

We are in the process of organizing our class reunion.  Please see the below list of events that we have planned.  We are looking for feedback from everyone IMMEDIATELY, so that we can make reservations.  We are also in the process of contacting the airlines to see if there are any discounts available for those who are traveling. 

 

EVENTS

Thursday, June 25, 2009-Class Day at Complex

Volunteer at the school and plant a tree or have a rock painted.  We would probably request everyone to email pictures from 1999 through your most recent pictures.  The purpose of the pictures is to have “A Trip Down Memory Lane,” from then to now. 

 

Friday, June 26, 2009-Movie and Casino Night

We will like to have a movie and casino night where everyone wearing their reunion T-shirt. We are sure we can call the Theater and ask for a special feature just for our class. 

Saturday, June 27, 2009-Formal at Teddy’s Restaurant (Tentative)

We will have a formal banquet/dinner and dance at Teddy's Restaurant. We called Teddy's and they charge $5000.00 for 100 people. This includes decorations, dinner, and dessert. We will have to provide music, the colors for the decorations and the menu choices. The cost does not include liquor, but there will be a cash bar. DJ Pops is charging $600 for the event. This is about $56.00 per person and it is mandatory that we book IMMEDIATELY.   

 

**Teddy’s has been contacted and they need $1000 to hold the venue. If the deposit is not received immediately, this day will be given away to the first person to arrive with the deposit in hand**

Sunday June 28, 2009-Church service and potluck at the beach

We will attend church in the morning and spend the rest of the day at the beach.  We will put together a list so everyone can bring a dish and we can get a DJ or band.

We understand that this is being planned at the last minute; however, we have already made great progress in putting everything into place.  We are requesting that you cooperate by responding to this e-mail so that we know who will attend.  With everyone's cooperation, we can reserve plane tickets, book Teddy's, contact DJ's/band, and order t-shirts.

 

The total cost for the above events estimates $150 per person $50 of which is due immediately. The balance of $100 can be sent by the end of February.  Again, we are aware this is last minute, but these are the decisions we are charged with in order to complete the reunion planning process.  Another e-mail will be sent out to everyone with a website where you can make your payment or u can mail your payment to the address listed below.  If we decide to pay by mail, the form of payment must be money order so everyone can have a paper trail/receipt.

Teddy's

Class of 1999 memorabilia

$1000.00 scholarship to the class of 2009

Class t-shirts

Photographer to provide memories on disk or upload on a special website dedicated to the Class of 1999. You will have access to the pictures for your personal keeping.

Melissa still has her class of 1999 t-shirt, so she was planning on using the same design but making minor changes. Suggestions are welcome!

Finally, we are also planning a cruise in December 2009 with Central High Class of 1999 in order to end the Reunion Year.  Yes, we plan on celebrating all year 'round. The cruise is also in progress and details will be provided by email at a later date.  It would be wonderful if everyone can participate.

We are aware some of us have families and because we are in a recession, we understand your difficulties; however, we express the pleasure of your attendance. Please participate because we would love to see you guys and spend time through this class reunion, especially because we did not have a class trip.  This is the only class reunion that is being planned.  The class is not divided, and we are all working as a team.  Alekisha (Joy), Darryl, Migdalia, Melissa, Sophia, Stefanie, and Garfield. Anyone else willing to help are absolutely welcomed. Concerns will be addressed accordingly.
