Funeral Services for Linda Danielle Gorman, 70, of Lufkin, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2023 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Gorman was born May 9, 1952 in Mobile, Alabama, daughter to Charlcie (Reynolds) and Daniel Newburn. She passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023 in her residence.

Danielle was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching the hummingbirds. It brought her so much joy being able to host the holidays with her family. In her free time, Danielle enjoyed cooking, canning vegetables, and arts and crafts. She was an amazing person. She was an educator for over 2 decades, 15 of those were at Central I.S.D. She finished her career as a Director at the Lufkin State Supported Living Center. She was a graduate of Brazosport High School in Freeport, Texas. She graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree at Texas Woman’s University and received her Master’s at Stephen F. Austin University.

Survivors include her husband, Ellis Penn “Butch” Gorman of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Brant and April Lee of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Brandi and Bobby Stevens of Hickory Creek, Texas; step-sons, Dan Gorman of Austin, Texas, Mark and wife, Liz Gorman of Lufkin; grandchildren, Camryn, Madi, Gavin, Parker, Rylee, Croft, Max, Ella, Matt, and Trent; sisters, Teresa and husband Glynn Oliver of Lufkin, and Pam and husband, John Jones of Lufkin; mother Charlcie Newburn of Lufkin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dan Newburn.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
