Gail Diane Pounds (Scallion) passed away on January 18, 2018, in her home surrounded by the love of her family.

Diane was born on November 3, 1951 in Freeport, TX.  She attended Brazosport High School and Alvin Junior College.  She earned a degree in registered nursing in 1972 and held various healthcare positions over the next 45 years.   Diane held a deep respect for the healthcare field and the amazing people she worked alongside.

The most important people in Diane’s life were her husband, Dale, children and grandchildren.  She was devoted to her family and delighted in hosting frequent gatherings for family and friends.  She poured herself into her children and admired each of their unique qualities and talents.  Her daughters describe her as a source of unwavering encouragement and reason with a fierce loyalty to her grandchildren.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, OD and Blanche Scallion.  She is survived by her husband, Dale; a sister, Cheryl Calvert (Rick); daughters, Krista Baily; Jennifer Casanova (Manuel); Stacey Appleton (Ryan); stepsons Jason Pounds and Kristopher Pounds (Heather); and eight grandchildren, Manuel, Riley, Emma, Elijah, Charlie, Jake, Sean Michael and Raylon.

The positive influence of Diane’s life is beyond measure and will endure for generations to come.  She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.  At Diane’s request, no formal services were established.  A gathering of family and friends will be held soon.  The family wishes to express their abiding appreciation for all who offered kindness and support to Diane.
