Lawrence “Don” Stevens

Lawrence “Don” Stevens, 65, of Angleton, TX, passed away on May 17, 2016, in his home surrounded by his family. Don was born on March 30, 1951, to Lawrence Lavon Stevens Sr. and Bessie Frames-Stevens in Orange, TX. Don married Treva Wilkes on October 6, 1973, and they spent more than 42 happy years together.

Don grew up in the Lake Jackson area, graduating from Brazosport High School in 1970. He later proudly served in the Army National Guard (as a paratrooper). Don worked for 25 years as an Operations Supervisor for the Strategic Oil Reserve at Bryan Mound. Don spent his free time with his family and friends waterskiing, offshore fishing, and riding motorcycles. Don was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend and he will be missed tremendously.

Preceding him in death is his mother, Bessie Frames Stevens.

Don is survived by his wife, Treva Wilkes Stevens; daughter, Donna (Bill) Coleman; son, Scott (Regina Butler-Stevens) Stevens; and grandchildren, Joshua Butler, Tyler Stevens, Grace Coleman. Don is further survived by his father, Lawrence Lavon Stevens Sr.; two sisters, Sandra (Don) Elliot and Linda (Marshall) Wynn; a brother-in-law, Gary (Sherry) Wilkes; nephew, Ryan; and nieces, Shauna, Cindy, Kristi, Felicia, and Ashley.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Restwood Funeral Home.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Restwood Funeral Home, with his cousin , Larry King , conducting services.
