Joey was born in Burnett, Texas, on June 2, 1952, and spent the early part of his life there. The family later moved to Lake Jackson, where he completed his education and graduated from Brazosport High School.
After graduation, Joey worked as a pipe fitter for Gulf States in Units 1 and 5 of the Oyster Creek Division. He loved the outdoors. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, working with horses and coaching girls softball.
Joey was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Stiles, of Clute.
He is survived by his father, Ray Stiles; best friend and mother of their children, Michael Ann Stiles; daughters, Melissa Stiles, Angela Solomon and husband, Mike; son, Raymond Stiles and wife, Nicole; grandchildren, Michaela, Caden, Joseph, Bradley, and Connor. He is also survived by his siblings, Sandra and husband, Tommy; Martha, Randy and wife, Patty; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at the new Restwood Funeral Chapel on Saturday, May 30, 2010, at 10:30 am.
