Charlie was a good guy. Always ready to help someone, if he could, and they would ask. Shame he had to leave us so soon.....

As a kid growing up, I never knew but one black person. Charles was my basketball teammate on the sophmore squad under coach Bob Latham and under L.Z. Bryan. Charles was
very competitive while coming out of a family athletic
family in Freeport. Charles had an older brother whom played for the Exporters, as I-west Stramber was a hard act to follow.
Charles always made me laugh and have fun, as our other teammates were Richard Merchant, James Gillenwaters,
Lamar Byrd Jordan, Johnel Allen, Grover Smith and others.
What great memories we have from this group, as we are
very sorry to hear of the passing of Charles.
