Gary L. Turney, 58

Gary L. Turney, 58, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Saturday, Dec. 26,
2009, at the University of Maryland Medical Center after battling a long
illness.
Born August 5, 1951, in Lincoln, Neb., he was the son of Eugene and the
late Mary Turney.  He was a 1970 graduate of Brazosport High School in
Freeport, Texas, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was employed by Verizon FNS.

Gary was a member and past Master Mason of the Clute City, Texas, Masonic Lodge
1334 F. &  A. M. and a member of the Freeport Host Lions Club of Freeport, Texas.

He was a member and pastor of Emanuel Baptist Children's Church in Clute.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Deborah A. (Pierce) Turney; two
sons, Joshua R. Turney and wife, Brandi, of New York, Pa., and Nicholas R.
Turney of Hagerstown, Md.; father, Eugene I. Turney of Dewitt, Neb.;
brother Scott Turney and wife, Cindy, of Davidsonville, Md.; and two
nieces, Lindsey and Leslie, also of Davisdsonville.

A graveside service will be held Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at 1:45p.m., at
Crownsville Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, Md.
