Joe La Hay Williams, III

Funeral services for Joe La Hay Williams, III, 44, of Freeport will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, June 14, 1996, at First United Methodist Church in Freeport with the Reverend Don A. Storey, Sr. officiating.

Mr. Williams passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 1996 at his residence.

Visitation was held at the home of his parents in Freeport on Thursday, June 13, 1996.

Joe La Hay Williams, III, was born on October 2, 1951 in Freeport, Texas to Joe La Hay Williams, Jr. and Katie Sue Johnson Williams.  He graduated from Brazosport High School in 1970.  Joe attendedthe University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration in 1974.  In 1976 Joe qualified withthe state Board of Public Accounting as a Certified Public Accountant.  After four years of employment at Price-Waterhouse in Houston, Joe joined the familybusiness, Williams Diesel, Inc., where he worked for eighteen years.

Joe was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church in Freeport.  He was also a member of the Texas Exas Association.

Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Anna Lou Williams.

Survivors include his parents, Joe La Hay Williams, Jr. and Katie Sue Williams of Freeport; sister and brother-in-law, Laura Lee and Truman R. Thompson of Lake Jackson; brother and sister-in-law, Robert M. and Teri Williams of Lake Jackson; 2 nieces, Marla Thompson of Houston and Tuesday Williams of Lake Jackson; 3 nephews, Kevin Thompson of San Marcos, Justin Williams of Freeport and Tyler Williams of Lake Jackson; and numerous devoted friends.
