My brother Carl graduated from Oregon State, served nine years as a Naval Officer (Lt Cdr), including service in Vietnam with the Marines. He did graduate work at the Navy Postgraduate School, Monterrey and USC. After a year as Ski Patrolman at Mammoth Mountain, he joined his father at Fullerton Savings and Loan, later Fullerton Community Bank, where he rose to President and Chairman of the Board. He served on a number of local boards and charitable organizations including the Boys Club. He is survived by his wife Barbara and son RJ and daughter Brenna, both FUHS graduates. We miss him.
I remember Carl very well. We knew each other from sports at FUHS; he used to jokingly chide me for being slightly faster than he in the low hurdles. No matter - he beat me in the high hurdles. I never knew Richard, but was friends with Nancy and remember her fondly and would love to hear from her but do not know how to make contact. I think that she married John Garner , a half mile runner on the track team. I tried to find Carl several years ago just to say hi, but looked at the Union Bank Instead of Fullerton Bank.
