Carolyn Wood founded Gateways Summer School in 1982 with a group of parent volunteers to provide affordable summer educational programming for gifted children. Carolyn fought for challenging educational experiences for all children, particularly those identified as gifted. She took pride in her children and absolutely adored her grandchildren. Carolyn is survived by her four children, Katherine, Gregory, Jennifer and Suzanne; her brother, Douglas; her sister, Alice; as well as four nieces, two nephews, and six grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on July 14th at the UCUC Church.
Memorial donations may be made to Gateways Summer School, her "fifth child."
