Todd Reid Hill, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend to everyone he met, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, after bravely battling a series of health challenges. He was 56. Todd fought hard, lived well and loved fully. A school psychologist at Glendora High School, Todd was a lifelong educator who touched countless lives. His inherent goodness, his honest heart and his wise counsel made him a favorite of students and colleagues. Gentle, kind and even-keeled, Todd was the rock family, friends and acquaintances turned to as well. He dedicated his grace-filled life to quietly helping others. Todd was exceptionally proud of daughter Aislinn, whom he called his lamb. The two shared a unique bond and could make each other laugh like no one else could. Todd cherished and protected his wife, Deirdre, the love of his life. Their love spanned three decades and their marriage was grounded in their deep Catholic faith and mutual respect. Todd, Deirdre and Aislinn abided by a family mission statement, wrote personal goals every season, and never missed a family game night, even after Aislinn moved out of state for college. Todd always put family first. He was the kind of son all parents wanted and took his little brother, Toby, under his wing from an early age. He loved all members of his family with his whole heart. To him, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws were his brothers and sisters. Todd was a music aficionado and attended hundreds of concerts, many with Toby and dear friend Dan Quirk. He enjoyed time with his close circle of male friends, talking about music, soccer, mountain biking or exchanging quips about funny TV shows and movies. He loved being around them as much as he cherished Deirdre's large Irish family. At one point in his life, he took regular trips to Las Vegas with his mother-in-law and Deirdre's aunts and would spend hours with them planning. Despite his health challenges, Todd never complained. He was deeply spiritual and leaned into his faith. He chose to be joyful and appreciate the little things, whether it was eating barbeque made just for him by his brother-in-law Ryne, getting coffee with Deirdre, or baking gluten-free bread for his family. He enjoyed tinkering on the Volkswagen Bug his father gave him, the same kind he owned in his youth. He maintained optimism and was looking forward to being healthy enough to undergo a kidney transplant and go mountain biking in Mammoth; Toby happened to be a perfect match. Born in Fullerton on June 21, 1964, to Hugh and P.J. Hill, Todd graduated from Fullerton Union High School, then earned a psychology degree from California State University, Fullerton. He went on to earn his master's degree in school counseling from Chapman University and a school psychology credential from Azusa Pacific University. He is survived by Deirdre McCormack Hill, his beloved wife of 26 years; cherished daughter Aislinn Hill, a senior at the University of Portland; brother, Toby Hill; adoring mother, P.J. Lyons; and a devoted extended family. He is preceded in death by his loving father, Hugh Hill. Todd's family is grateful for the outpouring of support and stories shared by those whose lives Todd touched, and wants to thank the loving community at Glendora High School for creating a senior scholarship in Todd's name. In lieu of flowers, Deirdre and Aislinn ask that donations be made to this fund. Details for donations will be forthcoming. A virtual memorial service through Zoom will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. For the link and additional information,
