Ernie was a very smart and unique individual. We started playing football together in 6th grade at Parkcrest.Ernie and I spent a while at the 20th Reunion talking about Medicine as we both were in the field - he was a physician at Cleveland Clinic at the time - one of the world's most renowed medical faciities. Rest in peace Ernie, and I pray you knew the Lord! Harry Norris

Ernie was a great guy. When growing up playing football against him, he was always kicking my rear. He was one of the smartest guys I knew. We both came from large families and seemed to relate very well over cramped quarters. I am honored to have known him and called him friend.

FYI: The annual American Society of Transplantation (AST) distinguished achievement award is named in honor of Dr. Ernest E. Hodge, a physician and Roche employee who died in 2004 at the age of 52. The $25,000 award is the AST's highest honor. It is a career achievement award to someone who has made groundbreaking contributions to the field.

Ernie and I had many classes together in high school at GHS and in college at UT, where we both majored in chemistry. We ran into each other often at UT all four years. He was a great guy - friendly, good athalete and very intellegent.
