In Memory

Alice Overall (Collier)

On November 23, 2013 Alice Overall Collier joined many of our other Angels.  She had been suffering with MS for many, many years.  Alice was always so full of love and energy, she will be missed by so many.  My heart goes out to her family and to her two friends who were like sisters to her, Sharon Snider Sweeney and Brenda Plumlee.  Please keep them all in your prayers.

Everyone who knew Alice can list all the words that described her.
Compassionate, loving, smiling, dear, caring, loyal, sweet, uplifting, shining, friend, wife, mother, daughter, sister.  There are many more.  She was an embodiment of all the words and was in fact a word unto herself.  Say “Alice” and all those who loved and will miss her knows in their own way what the word means.

I loved her dearly as did many.  And that is perhaps her legacy.  She touched so many lives and left them all with her special sense of love.
Time and distance could never distort this fact.

I send the big circle of “Alice’s Love” back to her family and friends in the hope that it will comfort somehow.

November 26, 2013

Today was such a bittersweet day. I went to the funeral for a dear friend that I went to high school with . . . Alice Overall Collier. The chapel was filled to the brim with love for her. It couldn't have been any other way. . .she was one of the most loving, caring people I have ever met. She never met a stranger, she was always eager to jump in and take care of anything that needed to be taken care of! The day was bitter sweet because it brought so many together to show their love for Alice. Our class was well represented last night at the visitation and today at the funeral. The music that Alice's family picked out to play while we watched a wonderful slide show of pictures from when she was a baby all the way up to now was awesome!! It was as if we were at a party! In every single photo of her . . . that infectious smile was always there! Alice was beautiful inside and out. It is always amazing to me how our class can pull together in times like this. We were a huge class, but we have stayed close in our hearts. With people like Alice in our class that is the only way it could be! Many did not get to come, but sent their thoughts and prayers through those of us who were there. She is in a better place now... she is with so many of our classmates who have gone before her. I know there is a huge party in Heaven tonight!  Alice, you are loved by so many . . . we will always miss you.

I wanted to share this with those of you who are not on Facebook.

love to all . . .
