I have learned a very painful lesson through Melissa.  I have been looking for her off and on for at least 30 years.  I finally got a good contact number for her and talked with her sister, Sherri, last night.  She told me that Melissa died in October, 2009.  My heart broke into.  To know that I was so close to finally getting to talk to her, and that I missed the opportunity is devastating to me.  She and I got very close during our Senior year in high school.  Our friendship continued for about 2 more years.  After I moved to East Texas, I lost contact with her...she never came to any of our reunions and I just couldn't find her!  We all need to slow down . . . we need to "stop and smell the roses"!  From now on, I am going to make a concious effort to let people who are important to me KNOW that they are important to me.  Thank you, Melissa.  I really do miss you and your are very important to me.

I can't believe that Melissa is gone.  She was my first girlfriend from the 1st grade to the 5th.  She would wear my boxing letter jacket at recess and was the sweetest girl in the world.

Melissa my Love,

You were so special, we were truly meant for each other and to hear you say these words was everything to me. Do you remember my dream do you remember what I told you? The news of your passing Melissa has put a hole in my heart that will never be filled, a heart shaped hole. I loved you from the moment I first saw you all those years ago, now and forever.

I cherish those memories when our hearts were one, in those moments it was only you and me, my sweet Melissa with big brown eyes, lips like heaven and the most tender heart I have ever known. I am sorry for the times I made you cry and I am sorry for the time we were apart.

Thank you for your love, I miss you Sweetheart!!!
David
