Mr. Wilper died Wednesday, May 26, 1999, at his home.

He was born May 16, 1959, in Cologne, Germany, the son of Edward and Agnes (Korte) Wilper. He graduated from Garnett High School in 1977 and Emporia State University in 1982.

He formerly worked as an office systems manager at Strong Office Systems in Lawrence. He was a member of the Oread Neighborhood Society and St. John's Catholic Church, both in Lawrence.
