Barbara Dunlevy Craig Nance

I was married to Johnny Mack (Lake City, SC) for 24 years. Now I am married to Donnie Nance (Myrtle Beach, SC). We have been married 17 years.

I have spent most of my life going to school and playing tennis. I played college tennis for Coastal Carolina University. I received two masters degrees from USC, one in education and the other in education administration. Both my girls were tennis players--on scholarships to colleges. They are now both teachers and still play tennis for fun.

I spent the majority of my teaching career at Myrtle Beach High, teaching Biology and Marine Biology. I also coached a State Championship Team (with my girls playing, of course).

My last school job was teaching special education students who had been expelled from their regular schools. Talk about your tough job--this was!

Tennis for me is now out of the picture because I am too old, too fat, too decrepit and just too lazy. However, Donnie and I still enjoy fishing, going to movies and church activities. My specialty is baking cakes for the church and for my friends. And, I might add, I love playing bridge.

On my first day at Ashley High School, I was in the Student Center (remember that??) when Joe Rhyne Rankin asked me to dance. Of course, I followed him out on the floor where he started doing the "dirty boogie." My response was to walk off the floor, but that bad boy (who had been in the 10th grade for 5 years) just laughed and laughed. Had I been a guy, I would have hurt him. How Mary Frances (his sister) ever tolerated him I'll never know. Embarassed me beyond belief.
