Wow...it really doesn't seem like 20 years have passed, but I guess time really does fly. After graduation, I was in college for about 2 years. Somewhere along the line, I decided I didn't like the direction I was heading. I was destined for a desk or office job. In 1989, I got interested in volunteer EMS with a local rescue squad, and then very interested in law enforcement. I volunteered with EMS until 2000, and got started in law enforcement in 1990. I was sworn as an officer in 1992. I've done a little bit of everything as an officer...have worked as a bailiff, a patrol officer, a supervisor, have been on a SERT team (SWAT with a more politically correct title..lol), a field training officer, and lots of other duties, including being a networking coordinator for one department and liaison to the state for our computers and data sharing. A fancy way of saying I was the scapegoat when a computer wanted to be a pain in the butt LOL.
A few years back I left law enforcement for good. It's a young man's game and I wasn't getting any younger LOL. Decided to go private sector and currently work as training coordinator for a security consulting firm.
