Cindy Posey Houchins

After graduation, I went to Appalachian State and King's College in Charlotte. I got married to Gavin Houchins in 1992. I worked for Gaston Co. Schools from 1990-1993 as an administrative assistant at the Central Office. We moved to Raleigh for Gavin to go to Pharmacy School at Campbell University. While in Raleigh I worked for The NC Assoc. of Educators. We moved to Huntersville/Mooresville area in 1997 and I went back to work in Gaston County Schools and worked as a teacher assistant at Lowell Elem. In April 2000 we traveled to China for two weeks to adopted our precious Abigail Shi-Li (18 months old). It was so amazing to become a Mommy - at last!! In Jan. 2002 we traveled back to China to adopted our precious Hannah Chang-Xiu-Ying (13 months old). After adopting our babies, I became a full-time Mommy. Now Abigail is in 3rd grade (age 9) and Hannah is in 1st grade (age 7). I now work for my husband some at his pharmacy and work some as a substitute teacher at our girls' school. I love being a wife and mother!

I have some fond memories of high school. Thanks to Mike Pesackis for getting me through biology and diasecting our little pig, Spamala! Drama was fun too! Jacanna Phillips was my dear friend and Chris Massey broke my heart! Also, thank you Mike Pesackis for introducing me to the love of my life. Gavin and I met our senior year, fell in love, and got married in 1992.
