What a nice idea, Carol!! My 70th birthday is in January, so I have been practicing by saying that I will be 70 soon. I can't believe how quickly the years pass! Hi, classmates.

Just a heads-up: there is at least one person impersonating a classmate and texting me. Yvonne Marlette Brown with a picture of an older woman who is " now happily retired" and " went to Geneva High School" texted me.

I assumed I was having a senior moment and didn't remember her. Then she made me aware of the $150,000 cash the GoVernment and World Bank is giving out.

old Yvonne is a phisher! Beware!

I know I have gotten 3 friend requests from 2 men and 1 woman who supposedly are from the Geneva area.  I deleted their requests and am very leery of people who supposedly have mutual friends but mutual friends cannot be verified.

John.   I have been living down here in the Florida panhandle since 1970 also know as LA or lower Alabama.  Football is very big and there are 2 choices that most people pick from.   Alabama or Florida State and I definitely have no use for Florida State.   My wife is a native from here and is a hard Alabama fan and I just became one attending games with her.     They have a mentality that football and winning every game is a must  losing is not an option for them.

New movie coming out about Jesse Owens and his olympic triumph in Germany brought back memories of him standing in our gym during an assembly, pep rally at GHS. Does anyone have a memory of that event?

I do remember that and was thinking about that during the movie preview. Excited as I was to see him, he came out and recited a memorized speech and left. Sounded like a student reciting the Gettysburg address. Disappointed at that, but a thrill to see him and pleased he came to Geneva.
