I sent a text to Bill Montgomery because I remembered Jesse Owens shaking Bill's hand and Bill said the Star Beacon was there to take his picture, part of a pep rally. Who else got to shake hands with Jesse Owens that day?

I got to shake Bill Montgomery's hand.  Remember it to this day.

I do remember Jessie Owens coming to Spencer school and sitting in the  gymnasium as he spoke to all of us. Had to be in the later 50's...Anyone at Spencer remember this?

I have a vague memory of him at GHS.  I feel entitled to have a memory or too that are not exactly right on the mark. I give up

Thank you so much, Carole and Dave, for finding JoAnn Franz's obit and posting it. She was such a sweet person, and it sounds as if she had a very fulfilling life, albeit much too short. Obviously, she was much loved.

I wish that all of our dear, departed classmates had some memorial posted on our website; and maybe this will reinspire all of us to think back and find some little memory to share.

I think Anton ate my cupcakes. Is there a statute of limitation on cupcakes? And Bill Kelly has his fingers in this conspiracy too. I can smell his MO on this thing

Jerry, I think it was Will Rogers who once said: "I never ate a cupcake I didn't like."

Dave could you post the update on the 62 63 64 reunion in May? Also what is happening with our 1964 class reunion next year? Think we need to do something for our 60th.👍

subject: Reunion

Mates, We met with Patty Fisher from Spring Hill Winery yesterday. They have agreed to provide their pavilion for our 7/27 event. If the weather is in climate they will make room for us inside. There's no charge for attending our reunion. We have the pavilion from 1 to 5pm but I'm sure they would be flexible if folks want to stay longer. The class still has $109 in the kitty so we can pay for a couple of appetizers to share. I've attached the list for your review. Wine, beer or soft drinks will be available to purchase on an individual basis. You can check out their website at http://www.thewineryatspringhill.com. They will have entertainment at the venue by the band Legacy, a local group from Perry that plays country and classic rock per their website. Not sure what time they start but probably later in the day.

Reply all with your questions or comments. I will keep you posts if there are further developments.
