DARRELL STANCLIFF OBITUARY

Darrell Stancliff, age 66, a resident of Geneva, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, after a six-year battle with cancer.
He was born Oct. 29, 1944, in Geneva, Ohio, to Stella (Pianowski) and Carl "Bus" Stancliff.
He married Sandra (Miller) on August 9, 1975.
Mr. Stancliff retired in 2002, after 32 years as a mechanic at the Geneva State Park.
Darrell was a 1964 graduate of Geneva High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Every spring he made fresh horseradish. He liked working in his greenhouse growing plants for his garden and for his friends. His hot peppers were his pride and joy; the hotter, the better. He carried hot peppers in his pocket whenever he visited the VFW and FOE, to challenge his friends to a taste.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Stancliff; children, Jason (Catie Cline) Stancliff of Madison and Samantha (James) Ellison of Ladera Ranch, Calif.; grandchildren, T.J. and Shelby Stancliff of Geneva; brothers, Keith and Norman Stancliff of Geneva; sisters, Mary (Ansu) Pal of Saybrook and Sharon Schultz of Geneva; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jamie Dawn Stancliff; and brothers-in-law, Walter Day and Robert Miller.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday March 5, at the VFW, Depot St., Geneva.
The family would like to thank Geneva Medical Center, Austinburg Rehabilitation Center and Hospice of the Western Reserve for their excellent care.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 E. 185th St., Cleveland, OH 44119, or to The American Cancer Society, NE Area, 10501 Euclid Ave. Cleveland, OH 44105.
Arrangements are being handled by The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva 44041.
