Paula Meacham was one of my first "new" girlfriends when we Cork Elementary students went to Geneva Junior High for 7th grade. I honestly don't remember what brought us together, probably just being in the same classes. But I do remember that she and I had sleepovers at each others homes and always enjoyed being together, going to the movie theater and also to the football games and dances. We spent a lot of time talking about all of the boys that we had crushes on! After junior high school, various interests and activities drew us apart; but I always considered her a kind friend. Needless to say, I was so very sorry to learn of her passing not long after graduation.
