Wally and I got to know each other in Cub Scouts and grade school. I remember being fascinated that is Dad drove a race car at the Painesville dirt race track. I went to watch the races with Wally every chance I could. Wally and I both built Pinewood Derby cars and we raced them in the cafeteria at Spencer at a Cub Scout meeting. I'm pretty sure he won it all and took home the trophy. We did not hang much in high school but after that we both went into the Army on the same day. At Ft Knox KY. Wally was in the barracks next to mine and was a member of a different platoon. We did not see much of each other during that time even though we where right next to each other.. After Basic training I went to Ft Monmouth NJ. and he stayed at Ft Knox to learn about tanks. I think he was a tank gunner. About two years later we both had returned form Vietnam, 1967, and ran into each other at a Bar where 84 and 534 cross. Don't remember the name. Around 1977 I saw him again when I went to see my Brother. They both worked at Reliance Electric. I think he was married and had started a family at that time. Completely lost touch after that. Don't remember when I heard of his passing. Another "great guy" from our class. Thank him for his service in your thoughts and prayers. If anyone can fill in the blanks or correct me if I'm wrong about anything, please do so.

I remember Wally played the line with the Eagles at 112 pounds. Cameron Marcy was over 200, and everyone else was in between. That's tough.
