I got my Bachelor's in English from BYU. Loads of fun. I served a mission for the LDS church in Scotland from 92-94. I met my dreamboat husband Curt, who is from Seattle, while we were in Scotland. We married in Sept 94. Our first son Ian was born in Utah. Our kids were all born at home & my mom who is a midwife delivered them. I've got a little bit of hippie in me.
Maybe that's how we ended up moving to Boulder, Colorado for 3 years (where Curt went to law school.) Our 2nd son Josh was born there in 1999. I could have stayed in Boulder forever. Love the mountains-- incredible.
But Curt took a job in Chicago with Kirkland & Ellis. We stayed there for 4 years & our daughter Eliza was born there. Chicago was a blast in so many ways. The city is amazing & we had a great suburb, Naperville, with wonderful schools & friends for life. I even ran a marathon in Wisconson. But we were both far away from home & family.
In 2004 we moved back to Gilbert when Curtis took a job with Gallagher & Kennedy in Phoenix. Our 4th son Isaac was born in 2006. I am delighted to be back "home" and raising my kids in Gilbert. I've been involved in Cub Scouts the past 3 years. It's wonderful to reconnect with old friends.
I am a pretty typical soccer/football/basketball mom. I love to read & cook & hike. We love to spend a month every summer in the mountains above Seattle where Curt is from. We also like to visit Whistler in BC, Canada & Rocky Point, Mexico. I still want to go to Europe.
There is a certain amount of tiger pride that swells when I meet someone who went to "the old Gilbert HS" (aka Mesquite Jr. High). Things were simpler then. But I still love things like going to my new dentist-- Brent Pospisil. Or go to aerobics with Laurel Brady every week. Or running in to Shelly Chandler in the temple. Or Charissa Chafey at Old Navy. Fun. It sure will be fun to reconnect with you all at the reunion.
How about the time that I was in the bathroom in the hall by Mr. Guggisberg's class & Kim Konkel & I were "fighting"? I left the bathroom with my skirt tucked in to my pantyhose (what are those??) and toilet paper stuck to my shoe. She tried to tell me (so she says) but I just ran away & went right into English looking like a fool.
Other great memories: Band trips, ap classes, Mr Morton, patty melts, icecream on the golf course & flash cube parties, seminary trips, burning my behind when I sat on hydrocloric acid in chemistry, prom with Mike & Allen, Morp in Fiesta Mall, Forever Young, student council, Ferris Days, Kim's 69 VW Bug with a hole in the floor.
