What have you been up to since 1989?:
I married Matthew in 1993 We moved to Edwardsburg in 1999 so that our children could attend Edwardsburg's Blue Ribbon schools. So far they are doing excellant in school. We live on a small 20 acre farm with horses, chickens and turkeys. Along with the wild animals like coyotes, deer and wild turkeys. Our horses are actually harness race horses. My husband trains them to race at places like Balmoral in Chicago. My daughter now has a miniature horse named Apollo. Before our move I worked as an engineering draftsman for Dexter Axle for about 2 years. Then I left to stay home with my kids. I have been running a daycare on and off since 1997. Recently I became licensed. I am the Girl Scout cookie coordinator for all of Edwardsburg and the chairman for the little league fundraiser. My daughter has been in girl scouts for about 6 years and I have 3 kids in baseball. My husband coaches Tyler in minors and Nathan in t-ball. Our oldest ran track this year and is on a bowling league in Elkhart. Nathan starts kindergarten this year, 2008. Brody starts high school and Morgan starts middle school. Tyler just moves up to the intermediate. On May 23, 2008 we lost our daughter. We had found out the previous week that she had passed. I was 21 weeks pregnant. May 23rd I delivered Gabrielle Jane Heflin just as if I was delivering a full term baby. She has been cremated and we will bring her home this week. Autopsy and genetic tests have been done and we are waiting on the reulsts before we try again. Just an update, November 8th; Tests came back normal. Tomorrow I will find out if we are pregnant again. Well, got pregnant and miscarried Thanksgiving week. February 22nd-I am considering changing careers. I did attend some college for architecture but I am thinking of becoming a midwife. I love houses but I just don't think there is a market for that right now. And, being in a small town there are not many houses for sale. Or, being built right now.
