Welcome to the
Pirates Reunion website.

If this is your 1st time here and you are not sure where to start click here for some help

Russell Leggett has officially begun pestering me about a 2019 Pirate get together/reunion.  Hmmm.  Ideas?  Comments?  Rants?  Sarcastic observations?

Here's a bunch of old Pirates at the Spence Gordon Memorial golf tourny in Houston in April 2018.  Great fun to hang with: left to right - Chris Demarest ('80), uh, me - Ben Hestir ('79), Rob Turberville ('78) and Roger Rico ('80)

The Blue and Gold, the blue and gold will live forever!  If you know the melody to those lyrics, you may be a GHS alumni and/or former student.

There is a new Facebook group called the Gosnell Get Together (The GGT) led by Tina Farmer-Cone and Doug Peterson and they are organizing a reunion event to be held in June 2017 in New Orleans, LA.  If you are interested, check out their Facebook group at:

Greetings You Old Pirate <g>!

Tina George Rowe has asked (as of March 6, 2016) if anyone is interested in a Pirate Reunion Cruise in 2017.  If you are interested (all classes) then check out her post on the Gosnell Alumni page on Facebook.

That is all for now - hope you and yours are making it through this crazy world.

(Obviously the 2014 reunion is not today...but we had a lot of fun.)

Our 2014 GHS Reunion is today (Memphis, TN) and tomorrow (Blytheville and Gosnell, AR) and you are invited to join us!

If you decide at the last minute to join us either Friday night in Memphis or Saturday in Blytheville/Gosnell we would love to see you.  No need to register online at this point, just show up at the times listed below.

If you have questions - call
(864-275-9962) or send e-mail to Ben Hestir, Class of '79 (email:  ben.hestir@hestir.com).

Friday night July 18th - simply appear at the Doubletree Hotel Friday night between 5:30 pm and 6 pm.  We will distribute wristbands to those of you who are already registered and collect payments from anyone who has not.  Our registration table will be in the hallway at the back left of the lobby in front of the glass block wall.  We have the picnic deck on the 3rd base side of the Memphis Redbirds ballpark (AutoZone Park).  This is across Union Avenue from the Doubletree.  You can park at "Parking Can Be Fun" garage at 79 Union Avenue for $6.00.  Price for the ballgame and the BBQ buffet by Corky's BBQ is $45 per person.

Saturday - June 19th - we are meeting at the school cafeteria at 11:30 am - the old one, that is.  We will have lunch for those of you who have signed up and may be able to accomodate a few extras for $10 each.  Lunch is (once again) BBQ from the Kreme Kastle.

Dinner at the Holiday Inn starts at 7 pm and we should be done eating no later than 8 pm.  Our reunion event is in the meeting room adjacent to the Bistro Restaurant .  If you want to come in after dinner come just before 8 pm.  Price with dinner is $42 per person, without dinner is $20 per person.  We will open up the divider to the dance floor at the Bistro later in the evening after dinner.

You are welcome to join us and if you have not pre-registered we will take your payment at the door.  Thanks!

We are expanding the site to graduation years 1970-1990.  In order to add your class year to the site we need a list of the graduating seniors from the yearbook and digital photos of the senior pics from the yearbook in high resolution.  I've already added 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974 and 1986 classes.  We need the senior lists and pictures for 1975, 1987, 1988, 1989 and 1990.  Please send the lists (Excel format would be the best) and photos to me by clicking here and attaching the appropriate files.  Thanks!

Happy New Year to a bunch of old Pirates!
Set up or update your profile and stay tuned!

Pirate Reunion events were held in Dallas (3rd annual Arkansas-Texas A&M game) and at Gosnell (2011 Homecoming) in 2011!

When's the next Pirate reunion?  Big or small, it's always great to see old friends...

Joe Ethridge ('78) and I had an impromptu mini-reunion at a hotel in Louisville, KY this summer when we both showed up for conferences being held there.  Amazing coincidence as we crossed paths in the lobby and managed to recognize each other.  We had a great time catching up that evening.

There are a group of Pirate Alumni attending the Arkansas/Texas A&M game (the Southwest Classic) in Dallas this Saturday, October 9, 2010.  If you care to join them for tailgating, give Dan Quinn (class of '77) a call on his cell at 979-412-2196.

Pirate Weekend in Memphis July 15-18, 2010 was a lot of fun.
Good to see ya'll!
Thanks to Jim Wages and Russell Leggett for saying
"Let's Do It Again..."

We had a great time in Dallas, TX October 2 & 3, 2009 at the Arkansas - Texas A&M game at the new Cowboys stadium and at Terry Cameron's ('80) BBQ at his house the night before.
To see the photos from that fun-filled event you can click right here

The Pirates Reunion 2009 was held in Memphis, Tennessee on Friday, July 31, 2009 and in Blytheville and Gosnell, Arkansas on Saturday, August 1, 2009.

Over two hundred Pirate alumni, faculty and former students joined us each evening with graduates, faculty and former students from the classes of 1972 through 1989.  It was a sight to see and over two joyous nights we hung out with our old friends, ate some great food and listened to some amazing live music from Memphis.

Thanks to your attendance and support, we raised $1,300.00 in donations for two local college scholarship funds that help graduates from Gosnell High School, Arkansas to fulfill their dreams of attending college.

The Gordon-Paladino Scholarship Fund and Gary D. Holmes "I Believe" Memorial Scholarship Foundation are administered by Bill Quinn, Class of '76 and by Linda White Holmes, Class of '79, respectively.

As an organized bunch of old alumni should, we can continue to support these efforts by attending each of the scholarships annual golf tournaments (one in Blytheville and one in the Houston, TX area) or by making direct donations.

We will establish direct donation links (in the next few days) to support these scholarships and to help support this website as an ongoing communications portal for this fine bunch of old Pirates.  The same secure system that many of you used to pay for our reunion events this year will be used for the donation links.  Donations will be paid into the respective funds via PayPal.

The reunions held in 1989, 1999 and 2009 were all special occasions as it is a pleasure to see the people you grew up with or came of age alongside.  Our shared experiences during those times will link us for the rest of our lives.    I am hopeful that if we all stay in touch with this group of people, we will have many opportunities for mini-reunions in a variety of locations.  Life is short.  Go see an old friend.

Pirates Reunion 2009 was a large success on many levels thanks to all who attended and all who spread the word about this website and our efforts to reconnect with EVERYONE who went to school with us at Gosnell High School, Gosnell, AR.

Check out the new Pirate Message Forum and
the even newer Pirate Pictures !

We are glad you are here and sorry if you could not join us in Memphis on July 31, 2009 and in Blytheville/Gosnell on August 1, 2009 where we saw a lot of our old friends and created many new memories.

If you are in contact with any teachers or former Gosnell students who moved before graduating or Gosnell graduates from classes other than 1976 - 1985 you would like to invite to be a part of this website, do it!

Send me their names and e-mails
(if teachers), and (if students) where they graduated, the year they graduated and they will be added to either the teacher or guest sections!
