I lived in Blytheville until the late 80's working in the local hospital. I served 8 years in the Armed Forces, landing back in the area to be close to family. I currently live in Memphis and do primarily obstetric anesthesia, while working on a doctorate from Texas Christian University.(12 hours to go)
I co-owned a real estate company with my partner of 15 years and have renovated about 20 houses in the Memphis area, making it a better place to live! We sold the company to a competitor about 7 years ago when the market was better. I have a wonderful dog named Maybelle, a Wire Haired Pointing Griffon. I would have a hundred dogs if I could. We just made our 27th move 3 weeks ago and think we will stay put until we leave Memphis.
We are tired of renovating, moving, and real estate. We travel whenever anyone says "lets go"...Cruising has been our main adventure. I think we have been on 10 or 11. Last one was from Rome to Venice. Ft. Lauderdale is like a 2nd home and we hope to retire in the South Florida area in the next few years.
Since high school one of the most memorable and pleasurable years of my life would be the year Don and I decided to move back to Blytheville and renovate the old Leach house on Main. It was great being so close to my family. Little did I know; Judy White (my Gosnell english teacher) would live across the street. That was a year for great friends and fun on Main Street. Some say you can never go back, but I say you are crazy if you don't. Blytheville was wonderful the second go around. The commute was to great for work so we headed back to Memphis. Judy we miss those late night card games.
It is great to have this forum to peek at how life turned out for every one. Every day is a gift from God so enjoy it to the max.
