Great job Karla and Andrea on the idea of having a website. I have personally really enjoyed being able to say hello to everyone. I hope everyone is doing well. I have enjoyed looking at pictures and all. Man everyone looks so great! I just can't believe it has been 20 years. I've been so impressed with everyone's page and it seems that southern turned out some pretty good folks but, who didn't know that. Take Care! Tracy Champion.

Hey everybody. This website is great. Thanks for including me in the reunion. I am glad to see that everyone is doing well. I can't wait to catch-up. For those that don't remember me, I had a big Afro and transferred to Williams for high school. I missed you all and can't wait to see you.

Like everyone else I sure have enjoyed the site. You all have done a great job. It is really great to be able to see old class mates. Most people don't seem to have changed a bit. We had a wonderful class and it shows. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.
See ya soon,

Sounds like everyone has really enjoyed being able to reconnect. I am glad that we have had this forum to do so. This is a point in all our lives that we are looking back and wondering if we are what we could have been etc. We may second guess ourselves and guestion the way we look, our financial situation, our marriages, or failed marriages. I think most would agree that all of this adds to the pressure of going to the reunion. Lets take the pressure off each other and be grateful that we are still alive to see one another. As the years pass there will be fewer and fewer of us. There were times in high school that we were not so kind to one another. That was acceptable then as we were childish and self-serving. My hopes are that we have all grown and understand diversity. Let us all be kind to one another and enjoy being together once again.

Twenty years since those days of Mrs. Loy's English class and Beowulf. Twenty years since cracking the skull of a Felis Catus against the wall outside of Mrs. Quakenbush's class. Twenty years since the senior circle. Twenty years since Friday night football and Saturday morning wrestling tournaments. Twenty years and I still have the beat of the SHS marching band in my thoughts. Twenty years since 2 liter sun country wine coolers, orange of course. Twenty years since past girlfriends and great times spent with all. I wouldn't give those memories away for anything!! We are who we are today and have traveled through our years based upon each experience held in memory... I have lived and still live a wonderful life, and whenever I need a smile.....it is a thought of those days past, from which a smile can be produced....

Looking forward to seeing all....

I just wanted to say a big "thanks" to all of the folks that came out Saturday and made our reunion such a success. I don't know when I've had a better time! I posted a few pictures from the family event on my profile and we're working on getting more pictures to you guys soon. We are still planning on getting together for a Homecoming Tailgate (Oct. 17) so mark your calendar and keep checking the website for updates. I feel so blessed to be a member of the SHS class of 1988!

What a wonderful time it was to see everyone again. You guys who were involved in planning this event certainly did a great job. Kudos to you. My kids had a great time at the family event and enjoyed meeting others children. Look forward to seeing everyone at homecoming. By the way they have homecoming shirts on sale starting this Monday- Oct. 3, 2008. They are $12 and you have to pre-order. See you guys at homecoming.

Hey guys & gals:

Tina and I are working on putting together a nice DVD collection of all of the photos she took at the family event + the photos she took at the reunion + the photos I took at the reunion. That's a lot of pictures, about 275! We'll hopefully have something put together by Monday, Sept. 29 so check back and we'll have information on how to order those then.

Until then though, have a great weekend! - don -

I made a promise to tell this story and pass on a "Hello" from a very special 80 year old lady! I was not able to tell more than one person about this at the reunion. Mostly I just could not remember who was in my 4th grade class at Alexander Wilson. I did remember that Vicky Hollers and Janet McCann were my best friends that year but they were not at the reunion. Maybe this will be something special for some of you guys....

...I was on my way to NC for the reunion … I stopped in DC to change planes … I ran to my gate … made it just in time …. I was standing there and overheard a tiny lady spelling her name and asking for a boarding pass … normal to hear a NC accent … because we were all going to NC from DC … well her name was Ms. Rosheli … my (perhaps yours too?) 4th grade teacher from Alexander Wilson!!!! In fact she was on my flight out of Germany. She and some of the administration from Elon were on their inaugural trip to Italy … a new tradition for them … she hugged my neck … it was so awesome … she made me promise to tell everyone she said hello …. I had a chance to tell Laura Lowe … but turns out Laura was in a different 4th grade class.

How cool was that!?
