It hard to believe its been 40 years since I graduated
from GFC. I'm still the dreamer I used to be and some of those dreams have come true and some I'm still working on. It's been one heck of a journey so far. Feels like I'm just getting started.
Since I left GFC I have been an entrepreneur/ small business owner, songwriter musician and music industry executive , a runner for a law firm, lots of days jobs but I'm happiest when I'm doing something creative which means I'm broke a lot. i was married in 1984-1988..I was in a band called " Dakotah". when I lived in Eugene, Oregon in the early 70's. We had a very good following in the Pacific Northwest, We got to open shows for artist like Elvin Bishop, Country Joe and the Fish, and the rock group Steppenwolfe I have been fortunate to work with some very talented writers, producers and new country artists
I have been an extra in several movies and a couple of music videos including the film Ernest Goes To Jail. and Elvis the Early Years which was filmed in Memphis. It was a lot of fun meeting the actors especially Jim Varney . He did an impression of John Wayne that had the whole crew in stitches. He was a very funny man. He has since passed on.I have a a couple of pictures of him and me on my wall which I'm very proud to have.
I moved to Nashville from Eugene 1988 to purse my song writing career. I've been here ever since. I love the life style and the people. I work with a company called Gateway Entertainment, Inc. I love the job because I get to work artists and songwriters so I'm right at home. I have been very blessed to have some of my songs recorded by up and coming artist. I help the producer find songs that the artist can record as well as work at the label and publishing company.
I'm very passionate about my newest business that I started several years ago. My company is Bags by Bell. I came up with a new design for a computer laptop bag that I patented and have been selling as business professionals that need to have a business bag that keeps them organized. I just launched the new web site and starting to take orders for Christmas on the newest bag I've designed.
I guess I've tried a little bit of everything since I left home in June 1970. I love to earn and try new things . I also like a challenge and it seems for me that i learn best and I am more creative when I'm under pressure to deliver.
I've had some success and failures, found and lost loves, laughed and cried, prayed and found Gods grace in my time of need. If I look over the past 40 years I can say that I've done the best I could do in everything I've tried. Can't wait to see what's up a head,.
