FARGO, N.D. - John “Mike” Cunningham, 68, Portland, N.D., died Friday, Oct. 15, in Sanford Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 23, at Mayville (N.D.) Congregational UCC Church. Burial will be in Elm River Cemetery in Galesburg, N.D.

Mike, as we knew him in High School came back to ND from where he lived in California after his retirement. I saw him occassionally when he came to Grand Forks from Portland/Mayville to play trivia at the El Roco. He had an extensive music knowledge as he had worked as a DJ in California and he often gave me odd music for me to use when I hosted trivia. His wife often came with him, and I met his daughters at the funeral. It is odd that we did not see each other that often, but, now, I miss our conversations.
